Impact Study

On August 2, 2013, our safe rooms were tested and passed the strict requirements from the National Wind Institute.  To do this they secured our safe room to a structure and used a powerful air cannon to shoot 2’x4″ lumber to test for weaknesses.

The FEMA 320 & ICC-500 Tornado Protocol 4 was passed. The series of tests included 6 separate firings of 2″ x 4″ at our safe rooms / shelters.

These impacts relate to a 250-mph ground speed tornado, which on the EF tornado damage scale is an EF5 tornado. We're awfully proud of these results.
